Pierre's run afforded no shade, and the temperature was creeping up as the sun beat down. Even before Pierre arrived at the exchange where we met Van 2, both vans of us agreed it was brutal!
Despite the heat, Pierre kept his pace through the entire leg and arrived on time. The sun had gotten to him a bit and he was feeling dehydrated and somewhat ill for the next few hours as he rested and rehydrated.
